Letterpress – Word Game App Reviews

..please let me prepare and store a word and then let me switch between different opponents/games. Right now, i have to clear my word in order to switch between multiple opponents/games. Great game!

Love playing the game, HATE that IT WAKES ME UP AT NIGHT when my opponents have played their turn. I CANT FIND ANY SETTING TO TURN NOTIFICATIONS OFF! Very frustrating and Apple shouldnt allow it. Probably not even legal...

Cant resign or play games joined. Please fix this.

Love this app. Have been playing every day for several months now. The dictionary is lacking a lot of words (one star lost) and a chat option would be nice (another star gone).

Very cool game with a very elegant implementation. Deserves its apple design award, definitely. I wish there were more such things out there like this game.

I quite like it, but I wish it would force opponents to forfeit after a week or so... Also, it would be nice to see a score or something, at least keep track of my wins and losses.

Love the game. Makes my brain work hard. Wish there was a solo/play the computer mode though.

I just bought the full version because I liked the game and wanted to play more games at once but as soon as I bought it the game wont match me with any other players. if I cant play the game I want my money back update: I have checked the developers website and the game not acknowledging that you have purchased it is a KNOWN ISSUE! why they let us pay for something we dont get I have no idea. I want my money back!

Awesome game, but is lacking in the following: - no chat function - needs more languages

Would be nice to have a profile or a way to show how much wins and losses you have. Chat with opponents would be another upgrade idea to. Consider these ideas developers. After all some of us did pay almost 3 dollars lol

Ive been playing this pretty much every day since I first downloaded it a couple of years ago. Too much in fact some days, but I now limit the number of concurrent games to 10 or fewer (30 is max, if I recall correctly). Very impressive, since most word games, even really good ones, get tired after a while. This massages a part of my brain that hasnt really been exercised by other word games Ive tried. There are some elements of Risk, Boggle and Scrabble—but no timer, and no limit to the number of letters you can use per turn. The board is different every time, theres never an unlucky "draw" since all letters are available to both players at all times, and the combo of strategy and vocabulary keeps it fresh and playable. I also like that its not a race (too stressful), and I personally prefer not having the distraction of messaging between players. For newbies, the first thing to remember is that its not just the words you play, but where letters sit on the board—i.e. whether you can protect your territory—as you try to finish with more than half when all letters are used. It would be interesting to know whether the game algorithm auto-matches players according to experience/proficiency ... possibly because Ive played so much, I tend to win the majority of the games now, so I request rematches with players when a game has been particularly challenging.

I had to delete and reload the game because of a problem with the game after I downloaded iOS 9 (I was getting invites to play with people I didnt know and when I tried to rematch my friend it would start a game with a stranger). After I reloaded it, I was very disappointed to find that I now have to pay for features that were free when I first got the game, such as the played word list and the ability to change the appearance of the game board. I will continue playing with my one friend since apparently now I can only play one game at a time.

I love this game! Been playing it for a while. I have been having 10 active games for the past week and had no issues until today, I opened up the app and all my games disappeared except the two oldest active games. I closed the app and reopened and nothing.i have now reinstalled the app and started a new game however, the problem persists. Please fix this! Never had this issue before. Thanks!

Generally a lot of fun and usually challenging to come up with words longer than 8 or 9 letters, unless one cheats with letterpress helper apps. Lately though it seems to do a lot of crazy things especially since iOS 9 came out. For example I cant rematch against a player that I just completed a game with, pressing that option gives me another opponent. Other weird stuff includes having to press new game/play now 3-4 times before letterpress even finds an opponent and 3 way games which arent part of letterpress seem possible now but only seeing one opponent . Seeing as letterpress has not been updated in two years its probably time it gets a make over to work properly

The game is really fun and if you arent attached to your phone all the time, its a great puzzle to do every time you look down at your phone/have a moment to spare. Unfortunately, the app doesnt connect to the servers quite consistently, and I am unable to login. I even paid for the premium app and reinstalled the program. Disappointing.

This game remains my very favourite title for iOS.

While it might look like yet another copycat boggle game, this is in fact a unique and challenging word game that is genuinely in its own category, with its own unique strategy. First rate design as well.

This game is wonderful - a fresh take on word building games. The interface is simple, fast and responsive. Good work Loren!
