Letterpress – Word Game app good for
Cool game for now and then, push notifications make it easy to follow the game and the word validation helps me as a non-native speaker
Great game, definitely improved by recent additions. Even though I personally have no use or time for the chat function (but thats just me), it adds social dimension which some might enjoy.
Doesnt feel hugely improved by the new features, but still the same game we know and love.
Great game, but please make an option for two people to play on the same device. Should be a no brainer.
Beautiful, clean design. Simple and easy to play. Incredibly robust and stable. No crashes or freezes. No bloated options keeping this app super lightweight. I wish I could give it a bonus star for the best update notes ever! Hilarious and always fun to read. Every update includes a USEFUL feature you didnt even know you wanted that works every time. Support this dude and unlock the full version. Worth the cost, and he freaking deserves it!! He made a game that my wife actually likes!!! Congrats, sir.
to the moron reviewer who doesnt understand good things cost money: if the ads bug you so much, support the game you both by paying a few measly bucks!
Some bad moments
I cant play any more because the app crashes every time I try to run it. This is unacceptable, I wonder how this passed review. I guess nobody tests with older iPhones anymore. Fix this or set the hardware requirements correctly so that I can get the old version which works.
Like the unlimited game play BUT.....
I absolutely HATE the ads! I HATE that the tiny X is so tiny I inadvertently click the ad and it opens. I HATE it. Stop the ads! I dont care if you have to go back to a 2-game minimum. STOP THE ADS! Have I made myself clear?? STOP them!
I have played this game every day for months, but I just took it off my phone. The addition of a new feature for word validation and a leader board have rendered it useless. The game used to be a simple competition of creating words on a matrix, and with the reasonable hope that your opponent would not cheat by using apps to find words for them. If you felt that someone was cheating, you could just stop playing with them. The first problem feature was word validation. Now there is no need to think of words and try them by submitting. You can just throw up all the letters you wish to use, and suffle them around until the signal lights up saying that you made a word. This change reduced the skill needed to win the game (without cheating). I have played many enjoyable games with one player. The last one ended when in a tight game I left him a board with K and V that needed to be used. He threw K and V to the top, and the signal came on - he had made a word. The word was KV. I would venture to say that without word verification he would not have played the word KV, which in any case is not a word found in online dictionaries. The real death blow to the game is the ranking board, though. Now people see that they can WIN. Who will be on the top of the rankings? (The most dedicated cheater). This results in new random games where the first move is an 18 letter word that captures half the board. The chat feature is a good add to the game, but I dont want to spend my time sorting through a dozen cheaters to get to someone who actually enjoys playing the game.
Latest updates have removed the ability to play with Game Center friends so its worthless. It ticks me off that I paid for the upgrade and it hasnt worked right for months.
Impossible to play, even if Game Center is well activated. When I want START it says :
❗"Multiplayer Unavailable.
You are not allowed to play multiplayer games on this device."❗
What the
The application notifies that it has a play of the opponent, but to open the game, it does not appears and takes hours to update the play; close and reopen the app also does not work. Despite this the game is excellent.
